About the blog
The Minimal Millennial blog is my way of sharing my lifestyle in hopes to inspire change and to encourage you to share your journey towards a minimalist lifestyle as well.
Whether you’re technically a Millennial or not, we’re all feeling the strain of the “modern” and “normal” lifestyle. Many of us are dealing with debt, cluttered homes or relationships, stressful jobs or even just trying to figure out how to “grow up” in this world, so there’s something we can all share with each other.
This blog isn’t about selling things or promoting easy but expensive 30-day email-guided “life changing” programs, so if you do see ads, it’s because I haven’t upgraded my WordPress account to be fully ad-free yet. I’m not trying to sell you anything, which is a novel concept in the blog world these days. You won’t see sponsored posts, either. These are stories I’m happy to share freely with you.
This blog is for seekers: of happiness, of simplicity, of health & well-being. This blog is for us.
My name is Emily, and I’m a born-and-raised Indiana girl. I started my journey into a minimalist lifestyle when I moved four times in a year and realized that my clothes collection was – quite literally – weighing me down. Since then, I’ve donated, sold or trashed dozens of bags of possessions, and I’m not even finished.
In January 2015, my new husband and I moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue better weather, a change in atmosphere and a simpler lifestyle (meaning we’ve started over – we let go of almost all of our possessions in order to make this move).
Here are some of the things that inspire me, and that you’ll be reading about on this blog:
- Financial independence
- Healthy, simple eating
- Positive thinking
